Celebrate Pink Day for Breast Cancer Awareness
Date: Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 10:30 am - noon
Where: Lockett Station Community Center at 324 Lockett Station Road (attached to Robert Cross Middle School)
What: Special guest speaker Vincent Charles will speak on the role of the family in coping with cancer. Also: pink door prizes and pink cupcakes! This event is presented by the ARPD and Miss Kutie's Boutique, Albany Mall.

What: Dance the night away to the tunes of G & S and dine on desserts from Albany's finest chefs. All proceeds support the American Cancer Society. This event is sponsored by the ARPD, Albany Technical College, and the American Cancer Society.

Carver Teens with Character Club
Tweens and teens ages 10-17: Let your voices be heard to represent the youth in our community! Join the Carver Teens with Character Club and learn to talk to other youth in our community and perform valuable volunteer service projects. Learn about trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, courage, caring, and citizenship. This program is offered during the school year.

Open Gym for People with Disabilities
What: Carver Gym (410 Mercer Ave.) is offering open gym two mornings a week exclusively for people with physical or intellectual disabilities. This includes access to free weights, the basketball court, and the game room. The days and hours are: Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 am - noon. FREE! Membership application is required.
