1. What jobs are open?
A complete job vacancy listing may be found on this website—just click in the highlighted section above, turn to the Government Access Channel 16 or visit our job board in the City of Albany Human Resources Department at 222 Pine Avenue Suite 360.

2. Has my application been reviewed?
All applications are screened for minimum qualifications by Human Resources or the hiring manager in the department of the vacancy. The hiring manager selects the candidates for interviews.

3. Who will contact me if I am selected for an interview?
The hiring manager or a representative in the department of the vacancy will contact you if your application is selected for an interview. There is no need to contact the department.

4. Do I need to complete an employment application for each job?
Yes; once you complete the application online you can populate your responses from your previous application. We do not have a record of your password therefore you must remember it to do this. If you cannot remember your password you will have to start a new application.

5. Do you have a job hotline?
No, Question #1 provides information on our job vacancies.

6. How do I obtain the salary for the vacant position?
It is listed at the bottom of the job advertisement.

7. How do you obtain the status of your employment application?
Once your application is submitted you will receive an automatic response that your application has been submitted; because of the volume of applications that we receive we are not able to notify each applicant unless you receive an interview. You may call the Recruitment & Training main line at (229) 431-2806 if you have any questions.

8. How long do you keep employment applications on file?
Applications are kept on file until the job that you applied for is filled. You must apply for each job that you want to be considered.

9. Which positions require a typing test?
Most clerical positions require a typing test. Examples of clerical positions include Secretaries, Administrative Assistants, Communication Officers, Police Record Clerk, etc.

10. How do I apply for public safety positions such as Firefighter, Police Officer and Airport Safety Officer?
Once you complete an online employment application you will be contacted via your email or phone number that is listed on your application if you are selected to move forward in the process.

11. Where are you located?
We are located in the Government Center at 222 Pine Avenue Suite 360 Albany, Georgia 31701. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. but is open for you to complete online applications and take the typing test Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
