Richard Crowdis
Richard Cummings Crowdis has served as County Administrator since October 1998.
Professional Background: An honor graduate and merit scholar from Early County High School in Blakely, Ga., Mr. Crowdis attained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgia Southwestern College in Americus and a Master of Public Administration degree from Georgia Southern College in Statesboro.
He was the Griffin, Ga., City Manager from 1990 to 1998; the Brunswick, Ga., City Manager from 1987 to 1990; the Moultrie, Ga., Finance Director/City Clerk/Personnel Director from 1979 to 1987; the Floyd County, Ga., County Clerk from 1978 to 1979; the Floyd County Administrative Assistant to the County Manager from 1976 to 1978; and an Administrative Intern to the Floyd County Executive Officer in 1975.
His professional associations include ACCG Council of County Administrators (1998-present), Secretary-Treasurer (2004-2005); Georgia City-County Management Association (1976-present) Board of Directors (1995-99), President (1997-98), Vice President (1996-97) and Secretary (1995-96); Georgia Municipal Association Board of Directors (1997-98); International City-County Management Association; Georgia Association of Municipal Clerks and Finance Officers; International Personnel Management Association; Georgia Local Government Personnel Association; and Georgia Association of County Clerks.
