PUBLIC NOTICE


The City of Albany is accepting letters of interest or nominations from citizens interested in serving on the Community Development Council. Membership is open to representatives of active neighborhood groups, interested citizens who live in the target areas and members-at-large appointed by the Mayor and Board of City Commissioners for a one year term ending June 2010. Duties of the Community Development Council include ensuring citizen participation in allocation of the city’s CDBG and HOME federal entitlement funds; identifying community needs and concerns; prioritizing community needs, reviewing proposals for funding and monitoring the implementation of the city’s Community and Economic Development Programs.

Letters of interest or nominations along with resumes will be accepted through June 10, 2010 and must contain street address, organized neighborhood group you wish to represent or indicate if you wish to represent the business community, disabled, senior citizen, social service agency, public housing or other entity.
